I just received my copy of Hidden Treasures: The History and Technique of Fore-edge Painting by Jeanne Bennett. She has created a wonderful book. This is the first book ever published on the techniques of fore-edge painting. A lovely foreword is written by Sam Ellenport.

The photos of fore-edge paintings are excellent. There are photos of gilt edges gauffering, brass corners and clasps that are breathtaking. Photos of beautiful leather binding with onlays and gold-tooling dating to 1686. These are just a few of the many examples featured in Hidden Treasures. Jeanne has also included galleries of contemporary fore-edge painters in this unique book.

You can purchase the book by going to http://www.FEPHiddenTreasures.com.
