Forum outage...

Postby Jackie Poutasse » Sun Dec 09, 2012 9:36 am

Hi All,

Some of you may have noticed that the forum has been offline for the past few days. The server that houses all my websites crashed and burned early Sat. morning and had to be replaced.

Unfortunately the backup only had data through December 2, 2012 so any posts that were made after that time are lost. Also, any new members may not be in the system as well. I will send out emails to those affected.

Thank you for being members of the forum and for your patience.

Please let me know if you noticed and issues.

Hi Jackie,

Yes, I definitely noticed!

Also now that the site is back up, it doesn't seem to be "remembering" me and logging me in automatically although I checked the little box the first time I logged on earlier this morning.

Before the site went down, I wasn't getting proper notification of new posts (some would be listed but not others) though I was still able to find the new posts by going to "Active Topics".

Glad the forum is back!

Hi Jackie,

Same here, I've having to log in every time as well, trivial but irritating.
Best wishes

Hi Cathryn and John,

I noticed the issue with having to log in each time as well. I find it irritating too.

I need to upgrade the forum software. I am a little hesitant to do it myself. I can get the phpBB folks to do it but there is a fee.

It's something I'm looking at for early next year.

Thanks!

Jackie

Hi Jackie,

I quite understand, if in doubt, best to leave well alone or we may loser the whole forum.
Best wishes
