Hi all,

I will be upgrading the forum software after the first of the year. I'd like to do it at a time when there would be the fewest users online. I'm thinking early morning eastern US time. Barring any issues with the install it shouldn't take more than an hour or so. I will be backing up the current software and database the day before so if something happens we'll have only lost a minimum of data.

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Dear Jackie,

the "Book Arts Forum" is a 24/7 service that is frequented by users around the world - so I guess you won't find many hours that no-one is online.

I would consider it appropriate if you just would give an advance offline notice and do it at a time that is convenient for yourself. After all, it is a volunteered service you're providing to us (a good point in time to say "Thank you very much" once again ... Very Happy ).

Good luck with the update, and, ahh, by the way: Merry Christmas!

Dear Jackie,

Just to echo what Uwe has already said: pick a time that is convenient for you and proceed! We appreciate your work here and wouldn't want it to be any more burdensome for you than it absolutely has to be. And Merry Christmas!

all the best,

I agree, too. Do it whenever YOU want. And I'll also say, Thank You, Jackie
